TANGO CLASSES
Figures to dance at the Milonga
These classes were created to give you a repertoire of intermediate and advanced figures that you can dance in closed embrace at the milonga. We suggest to watch the classes in order, as they build off of elements introduced in the previous video.
Class 1
This class covers: “giro” in crossed system to the right of the man with a “sacada” on the side step of the woman. Different ways to finish the figure in a simple way, using either an ornament or combining it with the “sanguchito”.
Class 2
This class covers: “giro” in parallel system to the right of the man with a “sacada” on the side step of the woman. Integration of this figure with the giro in crossed system and combine it with the different finales from Class 1.
Class 3
This class covers: we incorporate a woman’s “gancho” during the giro and a variation of the man’s “sacada”.
Class 4
This class covers: a giro towards the left of the leader. First a simple pattern and then integrating the figure in your dance from the basic step, from the “ochos” back and from the walking. We also add some variations to it: a “sacada”, a “gancho” and the “montadita”.
Figures with giros in open embrace
Class 5
This class covers: Changing from close to open embrace. Three classic ways to start a “giro” with “sacadas” to the right of the leader. How to perform the “sacadas” smoothly.
Class 6
This class covers: A “giro” in open embrace towards the left of the leader. The figure integrates an “enrosque” (Men’s technique class #6) with “lápiz” and “aguja”. We also see how to start the figure in the other direction, and we integrate the “sacadas”. The follower integrate also ornaments for the “parada”.
